BIOGRAPHY

 

Graff was born in Paris, the son of artists, and until recently was a successful business manager. His passion for folding came over him suddenly one moring breakfast when his eye chanced upon the folds of the packet of butter he was using.
Ever since then folding has become his plaything, which he teases, shakes and waves around to awake the desire of others.

At first sight, a fold is a fold, exactly identical to the next one, an absurdity !
But on taking a closer look, folding reveals here, its extremme simplicity, there a quantity of detail, here a particular relief, a certain dynamic force…

Graff represents a new dimension in the art of folding, one with endless creative possibilites. It tells a story, awakes a feeling, a hidden emotion…

Graff’s research cannot be reduced simply to the art of folding, but covers the assembling of different types of paper of different colours : the « language of folding ». Some of these « languages » (works) speak to you, others do not.
